DRESSING UP GRAYSON
Project made for Grayson Perry’s alter-ego Claire. Merging together symbolic appliques, panel structure and bib shirts seen in American cowboy suits with meticulous cross stitching of Victorian embroidery samplers and handkerchief needlework to create a childish fun bodysuit for Claire to play in. The garment has several layers of print to build depth and variety of texture – starting with digital print, moving on to multiple screen printing layers, special foiling and raising effects and finished off with hand embroidery.
